As the coronavirus pandemic alters daily life around the world it is the poorest of the poor who bear the brunt of the impacts, especially the children. In the G20 countries, 5 trillion dollars has been committed to sustain life by providing critical medical supplies, food, sanitation and economic stimulus. Meanwhile across India, Africa and throughout Latin America the lack of humanitarian aid translates daily and directly into more death and suffering for tens of millions of people, including the 370 million children now out of school- targets for child labor, trafficking and abuse.

In this call to action, Nobel Laureate Kailash Satyarthi has rallied the world's leaders and Nobel Laureates to provide 20% of all pandemic financial assistance to the world's poorest. Take a moment to read this remarkable document from a rare visionary signed by some of the world's most compassionate leaders. While their arithmetic is sensible and will help avert global disaster, their call for action is at its core a moral and ethical imperative.

For the past 25 years, I've worked with Kailash in every corner of the world to press forward for a world that values human life equally without regard to race, nationality, gender or country of origin. Media Voices for Children supports Kailash's call to action,  our money can be put to good and compassionate use to save communities, families and children.
